Brief History

A Short History of College.

An institution like O.P.S. Mohavidyalaya for the inhabitants of Odapada Block in the District of Dhenkanal, Odisha was a long cherished dream. The people of the locality felt the surging need of Higher Education and to the effect of their sincere effort, dedication and unfathomable will power the dream came to reality in the year 1979 with the Motto 'janam-eva jayate'. Thriving against all odds, since inception the institution has a long tramp with its mission to dispel the darkness of ignorance and till date it keeps expanding its horizon to accommodate and nourish more and more young brains. For its constant endeavor in this mission it has capitalized the goal of NAAC accreditation in the year 2009.

The college was initially affiliated to Utkal University, Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar for opening of Intermediate in Arts. Subsequently the college is affiliated to CHSE, Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Utkal University Vanivihar, Bhubaneswar from the year 1985 & 1989 respectively for H.S.E & Degree courses.
